Here I am

For once I want you to come,

And you're not here,

For once I'm open before you,

And you don't care,

We've been here before,

Now here we are again,

I want it all to come out,

But you just cover up my pain,

Why can't you see that I can't do this?

I bled,

I cried,

I admitted it,

I didn't lie,

And still here you are,

As blind as ever,

Waiting for us to be what we aren't,

Two birds of a feather,

I'm finally giving you what you want-

my trust.And you trampled it,

As if it were dust,

I gave you my heart,

And you made it bleed,

I gave you what you want,

Now can't you give me what I need?

Revalation of Evil pt 2-3

"After him! If he gets away this time there's no telling what he'll do!"

Cody practically screamed the words and the swat team was moving before the echo faded.

"It's a negative sir." Said the swat commander. "I searched the whole building myself and he's nowhere to be found.

Cody muttered an explicative under his breath and turned to face the commander. "This is unacceptable! There is no way he got away that fast!! Keep looking in the woods and behind the monastery."

"
Yes sir!" said the commander.

Clineaus was almost overrun with what you might call 'joy' but his glee was far from innocent. "Those F.B.I twits will never be able to find me if they keep this up." Clineaus thought. "And next Friday, Cody and all his little agent friends won't be able to touch me!"

Back at the Pentagon Cody sat at his desk and stewed over the events of the previous day. "How could he just get away?!" Cody asked to himself. "That was a golden opportunity and I blew it!" Cody sighed deeply and placed his head in his hands.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't the great Gabriel Matthews."

Cody didn't know whether to smile or groan. "What do you want Baker?"

Christina "Nina" Baker, a 5' 4" slender blond with teal blue eyes, had been Cody's partner for four years now with them dating the last two of them. Born in St. Louis Missouri Nina attended law school in Pa. and joined the F.B.I two weeks after her 26th Birthday. She had been Cody's partner through it all:Cereal killers, Terrorist threats, Even a handful of murder plots against them both.

Now she stood in the doorway to Cody's office and just looked in and admired him for all that he put up with.

"It's not what I want." replied Nina. "It's what the head of the pentagon wants."

"Want could that be?" asked Cody.

"He wouldn't tell me. He said something about you being the only one who needed to know."

"I guess I have to go see him now?"

"That would be the smart thing to do considering he's in a bad mood since yesterday."

Cody stood up and headed for the directors office only to be stopped short by Nina when he got
to the door.

"You're not getting of that easy!" She said. "We have some unfinished business after you get off today!"

Cody groaned. That had been the 4th time this moth that he had either shown up late or
forgotten completely about a date they had planed for weeks in advance.

"I'll be there" He said, giving her a playful wink and a hug.

"You better be!" She said with a twinkle in her eye that said she wasn't really mad.

Arriving at the directors office, Cody knocked on the door and listened for the reply.

"Yeah! What do you want?!" came a gruff voice aged by cigars and years of yelling orders. "Unless you're Gabriel Matthews go away!"

Cody smiled and opened the door. "Hello Dan."

"Cody!!! So nice to see you again my boy! Please have a seat."

Dan Baker had been the director of the pentagon for the past 15 years. A jolly man who always seemed to have a plan or trick up his massive XXXL Oxford sleeves. He stood a very tall 6' 5" and the fact that he was over weight at about 300 lbs didn't help his intimidating size either.

"It's nice to see you too Dan. Now, if you don't mind I would like to know why I'm here."

"I'm sorry." Said Dan. "I really didn't want to do this-"

"WHAT??" Cody demanded "There is no way on this good green earth you are taking me off of this case!"

"Like I said, I'm truly sorry this wasn't my decision."

"Then who was it?!"

"I can't tell you that." Dan replied.

"Fine then. What am I supposed to do now?" Cody asked.

"Go home, Take a nice long hot shower and get on a plane for Hawaii."

"You know I can't do that! This case is my whole life! If I just drop it there is no way we'll catch him now!"

"I'm sorry son. This is the way things have to be."

"At least tell me who you're putting on the case instead of me."

"Jenkins." Dan replied.

"Jenkins!! What are you thinking?"

Tim Jenkins was 4" shorter than Cody but out weighed him by 50 lbs giving him an appearance very similar to a ball. Jenkins had been Cody's rival since his arrival at the pentagon.

"Like I said it wasn't my decision." Said Dan. "I'm sorry, I really am."

"Well then I guess I'm off to Hawaii?" Asked Cody

"That's what I would do. You've earned a vacation. Take it, and enjoy the time to yourself."

"I'll see you when I get back then."

"Yes you will, I'll be right here."

Cody left the building without another word to anyone.

Later that evening Cody and Nina sat outside at the Le Salle De Bans restaurant in downtown D.C. This had been the meeting/date place of choice for them both. Even though the name was French the food was completely American. This sat well with them both since neither one was much in the way of a fan when it came to foreign food.

"So. How was your day?" asked Nina

"Do you really want to know?" answered Cody.

"What do you think?"

"You know. I really don't know anymore. I just got kicked off of the only other thing that matters to me today, I'm never going to get Clineaus, you dad told me to go to Hawaii and on top of all of that crap. I'm being replaced by a incompetent oaf that can't even see his feet!!!"

"Wow I had no idea. You should really tell me these things." answered Nina

"I know, I know. It's just that-"

"It's just what?"

"I don't know. lets eat something. What do you want?"

"The usual. you?"

"Same." replied Cody.

"So whats new with you?" asked Cody

"Same old same old. I got an offer from a university to come and teach but I turned them down."

"Why?"

"Because I'm doing what I love. Solving cases and defending the Innocent. This gives me no greater joy."

"Oh. I see. Hey. This may sound like a really bed idea but just hear me out."

"OK. I'm listening."

"What if, you and I go after Clineaus by ourselves? We wouldn't have to tell anyone and your dad thinks I'm in Hawaii for three weeks."

"I really don't know about this one Cody. Do you really think it's worth getting caught breaking federal law just to settle a score with a man who thinks he's invincible and also who so far is proving to be just that?"

"Like I said, no one has or needs to know. We could get in my truck right now and go after him just the two of us you and me."

Christina just sat there and looked at the man whom she would go to the ends of the world and back if she needed to and thought about how many times in the past he had done this very thing and also how many times he had been right and gotten his man. Now, if for the first time in her entire life she questioned his motives. Why was he so intent upon catching Clineaus? What in the world could drive this man to the point of near insanity upon thinking about Clineaus?

"Christina?"

The question snapped her back into reality.

"Oh. Sorry. Did I miss something?" Nina asked

"No. I was just wondering if you were still here. You looked kinda spaced back there. Are you ok?"

"Yes. I'm fine just; Thinking."

"About what?"

"How you could think this is right? This goes against everything we ever learned in training or in Sunday school! I just don't think this is right going against a direct order to leave the case. I wasn't even involved and now you want to drag me into a case that neither one of us is supposed to be on?"

"I know it's wrong. I guess I'm just trying to figure out the greater good here."

"And what would that be Gabriel?"

"uh-oh" he thought. "She only uses my really name when she's mad at me." You know just as well as I do that Jenkins is an incompetent nincompoop who will just fumble around 'chasing' Clineaus around in circles wile he is really getting nowhere!"

"I see your point Cody but I just don't know."

"You don't know about what? I don't know allot either but I do know this. I Clineaus is robbing stores today with a gun and stealing cars. I'm just wondering what he'll do if someone actually has the guts to stand up to him. We may have a body on our hands and a killer on the loose! Besides he wants to meet on Fri. for some big showdown thing and I plan on going."

why is all she could think of saying. "Why in the world would you go and have some kind of 'macho' showdown with this guy? I mean, you said so yourself that he may not be happy with just taking things he may take a life next! And I don't want that to happen. Especially to you."

"I'm not asking you to go with me but I am asking you to not think less of me when I go."

"Well if you're so hellbent upon getting your guy I guess I have no choice but to either go with you or help you in any way I can."

"I knew you would come around ,you always do!" Cody said absolutely ecstatic.

"Yeah yeah I'll never know how you do it. But I do believe, Gabriel Matthews that you can talk me into anything."

They both left without eating anything.

The Decivers

They're evil behind their smiling faces,
Slowly,
Painfully,
Untying the laces,
To reveal the monster that lies beneath,
To re-open the wounds that were so deep,
To find the path that leads into the night,
To trick you into giving up the fight,
They lie in wait for you to fall,
So they can throw your back against the wall,
Fighting will do you no good,
You wouldn't fight even if you could!
Run!
Escape while you can!
Just wait till you hear what they did to one man,
This is all I ask of you,
Be cautious,
Be quick,
Watch your tounge,
Or soon they'll have a knife in your back.

One of the new ones

A Phantom
------------------------
Do I really exist within these walls,
Or am I just a dying hope that lurks these halls?
Is this what I have become?
A memory,
A shadow,
An allegory,
Have I become hollow?
No, I am none of these things,
I am a phantom.
A memory's old self is still remembered,
Even if that spark is just the shard of one word,
Memories are always looking for ways to come back,
For they now posess everything that they previously lacked,
A shadow stands hand in hand with the good it once was,
They just barely exist for one horrid cause,
They feed off the souls of memories faded,
Until they themselves become hopelessly jaded,
Allegories rebel against what they once were,
They're the same on the outside,
while the inside's not sure,
They represent what they could never be,
While their dead hearts hold the only key,
Those now hollow never really knew,
They never tried hard enough to think things through,
Pity them,
they were never able to finish their quest,
For how far can you go with an empty chest?
Phantoms' former selves have long since died,
No one will ever know how hard they cried,
Taken from them was the ability to stand,
And all they were left with was two broken hands,
Do any of us really exist within these walls,
Or are we all just dying hopes that lurk these halls?
Is this really all that we have become?
You, a memory,
You, a shadow,
You, an allegory,
Are you now hollow?
Or are there more like me?
I am a phantom,
How much worse could I be?
